Technical analysis
The technical analysis (or: chart analysis) is one way of financial analysis. The goal is to determine beneficial buying and selling times, taking price and turnover history into account and to predict the price development - or at least the probability of its occurrence.
According to André Kostolany, the relationship between the stock market and the economy is “like that of a man walking his dog. The man walks slowly, the dog runs back and forth. In the long run the dog (the stock exchange) will follow the man (the overall economic development).“
Trend recognition / strategic action are strengths of the technical analysis. Remember: the trend is your friend!
